The BT-20 Ridge Warden "Ball Tilt" head is the brain child of a "what if" question. What if there was a head that worked great for glassing and shooting? We answered that question with the Ridge Warden. The Ridge Warden is essentially a ball head but with a novel mechanism to lock the ball into a tilt only axis for efficient glassing; allowing it to function like a panhead. But this mechanism can be bypassed to "orbit" the ball like a normal ball head; allowing it to tilt off axis and level a rifle for a shot.

HEAVY HITTING FLYWEIGHT
Weighing in as little as 3.3oz (Lightest configuration w/o Carbon Handle) the Ridge Warden is the lightest head we've ever made; and we've done this all while maintaining a level of optical stability, smoothness and damping you would only expect from heads several times it's size, leaving plenty of strength for medium size spotters and light weight rifles.

MASTERFULLY MULTIFUNCTIONAL
Saving weight in your pack is just as much about multi-functional gear as it is about the specific weight of your gear. With the Ridge Warden you gain an effective glassing and shooting platform from one ultralight package. Additionally we took lessons learned from our Nighthawk and built this head with a highly adjustable carbon handle allowing you to tailor the ergonomics to your preferences and packability of your specific tripod.

SMOOTH EXPERIENCE
Applying lessons learned from our highly popular Nighthawk and the introduction of some new technologies, we were able to give this head the smooth damping feel in both the tilt and pan axes that give you the capabilities to efficiently and comfortably glass for extended periods of time.

DURABLE CONSTRUCTION
Machined right here in the USA out of billet aluminum and stainless steel. The premium materials and black anodized finish provide excellent resistance to wear and the environments.

Ridge warden/Sparrow

I haven't run it with my spotter yet, but I have used it multiple nights watching deer with my Swarovski EL's w/ a sparrow bino adaptor. I have had my rifle locked in as well with a forward mounted ARCA Swiss (I will be adding an ARCA adaptor just forward of the magazine as well)
Really nice system especially considering how lightweight it is.

Worth Fighting For…Using it that is!

The Wiser Precision BT-20 Warden completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I mounted it on my tripod, it was obvious this thing was built for serious backcountry hunters and glassers. The build quality is absolutely top-tier — incredibly robust, yet somehow still unbelievably ultralight. It’s rare to find gear that feels this well built without adding crazy weight to my pack - the 20 mile in and out with 60lbs of weight, Bt-20 hardly added any weight to my pack!

What impressed me most was how smooth the glassing movement is. The pan and tilt action feels fluid and precise, making hours behind optics effortless and enjoyable. Whether I was running binos matched with the BA-7 Sparrow (another fantastic gear from WP) or my Razor spotting scope, the BT-20 tracked perfectly with zero slop or hesitation. It genuinely combines the best qualities of a pan head and ball head into one incredibly capable system. Oh yeah, it magically returns to center level. That was IMPRESSIVE!!! I haven’t shot my rifle from it yet so I can’t comment on that.

I brought it along on a hunt with the rest of my “Yogi” hunt buddies, and it immediately became the most fought-over piece of gear in camp. All five on the team wanted to use it once they saw how smooth and stable it was for glassing. By the end of the trip, three of the team members were already planning to order their own after spending time behind mine. That alone says everything about how impressive this head really is.

On top of the product itself, the customer service from WP was phenomenal. I needed the BT-20 quickly for an upcoming hunt, and they went above and beyond to help with expedited shipping options and make sure it arrived in time. That kind of flexibility and customer support is hard to find these days, and it absolutely solidified me as a loyal customer.

This is one of those rare pieces of gear that instantly earns permanent status in your kit. Lightweight, rugged, incredibly smooth, and designed by people who clearly understand real-world hunting use. I couldn’t recommend the BT-20 more highly.

Btw, thanks for the candy and personalized note!!!

I haven’t shot off this head yet but it has worked great for glassing with binos. I did have to loosen the pan micro adjust quite a bit so I could pan without worrying about tilt, awesome product overall

Great ball tilt head. Only issue I see is when panning counter clockwise the head comes loose on the tripod. Other than that no complaints.

Light weight

I have this coupled with an Aziak backcountry tripod. This seems to be built quite well. Have only tested so far in the yard. It holds my 9.9lbs rifle set up just fine and when tightened down does not sag and feels secure. Packs well in my bag set up and doesn’t stick out.

I do notice, when I turret to the left that it seems to loosen slightly. When rotating right, can do a full 360(not practical for my use, though worth noting). A thread lock might suffice fixing this.
Moving in elevation up and down with Binos attached is extremely smooth and I don’t find anything that sticks.

The latching locks are sturdy. The latch lock can get in the way dependent on position up and down, though minor for current uses.
